Shiraito no Taki Waterfalls
2024年12月06日掲載
Mount Fuji's spring water gushes out from the cracks in the lava cliffs as several hundred waterfalls in various sizes, 20 meters high and 150 meters wide in total. This spring water is from rain and snow that fell on Mount Fuji, seeped into the ground, and reached Shiraito no Taki Waterfalls over a long period of time.

The name comes from the numerous waterfalls which look like white threads (shiraito) of silk.
In addition, there is Otodome no Taki Waterfalls on the east side of Shiraito no Taki Waterfalls.
It is 25 meters high, and it is the main stream of the Shiba Kawa River.
In contrast to Shiraito no Taki Waterfalls, which gives a feminine and delicate impression, Otodome no Taki Waterfalls flows with a masculine and dynamic sound.
Shiraito no Taki Waterfalls and the surrounding area have been designated as "National Places of Scenic Beauty" and "National Natural Monuments", and are one of the 25 cultural properties (constituent assets) that represent the value of the World Heritage Mount Fuji.
